Skeletal Remains Found In Carroll County Identified As Homeless Man

WESTMINSTER, Md. (WJZ) -- Maryland State Police have identified skeletal remains found in October along a path in a vacant lot in Carroll County.

The man has been identified as Thomas E. Linhan, 67.  He was homeless. There was no evidence of foul play.

The remains were found in a vacant lot in the 500-block of Baltimore Boulevard in Westminster on Oct. 6, 2012.

Missing person files for potential matches were checked throughout the region and additional forensic tests were conducted.

Investigators contacted the Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster and obtained X-rays of a local homeless man. A detailed comparison of the X-rays and the remains led to a positive identification of Linhan.

Investigators are still attempting to locate Linhan's next of kin. Anyone who may have information is urged to contact Maryland State Police investigators immediately at 410-386-3000.
