FEDERALSBURG, Md. (AP) — The mayor of Federalsburg says he was robbed of his cell phone after he gave a man a ride in his pickup truck.

The robbery occurred Tuesday afternoon. Mayor Bill Beall tells The Star Democrat of Easton that the man asked him for a ride to the Federalsburg marina. Beall says it was raining and the man had “the best smile,” so he agreed to take him.
