Milford Mill Boys Rout Potomac 84-55 For 3A Title

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) -- Justin Jenifer scored 17 points, and Allen Costley added 16 as Milford Mill won its third Class 3A state title in four years with an 84-55 victory over Potomac.

Milford Mill (26-2) took the title in 2010 and 2011 before losing a regional final last year. New coach Mike Silverman won the title in his first year. This is the school's sixth crown.

The Millers never trailed Saturday and held a 41-26 halftime edge. They stretched the lead to 27 in the third quarter. Silverman emptied the bench after that.

Jenifer had seven rebounds and seven assists, while Costley was perfect from the field (6-for-6) and the line (4-for-4). Bruce Watkins added 15 for Milford Mill.

Walter Broddie led Potomac (22-4) with 16. The loss snapped Potomac's 16-game winning streak.
