City Moves To Settle Suit In Girl's Electrocution

BALTIMORE (AP) -- A settlement in a lawsuit against Baltimore brought by the parents of a teen electrocuted during a softball game appears headed for approval.

The Daily Record reports that a settlement for $200,000 is on the agenda of the Board of Estimates for approval at its Wednesday meeting.

Deanna Green, 14, of Randallstown was resting her foot against a fence that was touching an underground cable and was electrocuted when she reached for a second fence, completing an electrical circuit. The accident occurred in May 2006 in Druid Hill Park.

Deanna's parents, Nancy Arrington Green and Anthony Wayne "Bubba" Green, sued the mayor and City Council in 2009.

Their lawyer, William H. "Billy" Murphy Jr., tells The Daily Record that the settlement is fair and reasonable.
