2-Alarm Fire Closes Baltimore County School

CATONSVILLE, Md. (WJZ)-- Firefighters are investigating what sparked a fire at Western Technical School in Catonsville.

The fire broke out around 2:34 a.m. Thursday at the school on Kenwood Avenue.

The first fire engine on the scene arrived to find one portable classroom fully involved with extension to a second portable classroom.

A second alarm was called for possible fire damage to the main school building.

The fire was placed under control at 3:31 a.m. with damage only to the two portable classrooms and the roof area of the main school.

There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is unknown.

Western Technical School is closed Thursday. Staff should report to Catonsville High.
