Harris Concerned About Federal Regulation

SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- Rep. Andy Harris says he is concerned about the impact of federal regulation on local businesses.

The Maryland Republican told The Daily Times of Salisbury that he plans to use his new seat on the House Appropriations Committee to help prevent "over-burdensome regulations." If that happens, Harris says he will target the funding of federal agencies.

Harris says his job as a member of the committee is to make sure regulators understand that their regulations can be burdensome.

The doctor represents Maryland's 1st District, which includes all of Maryland's Eastern Shore and parts of Carroll, Baltimore, Harford and Cecil counties.
