Activist Angela Davis To Visit Bowie State
BOWIE, Md. (AP) -- Activist and scholar Angela Davis is scheduled to visit Bowie State University.
Officials say that Davis will explore the topics of race, gender, freedom and incarceration during a public lecture Thursday at the university in the Martin Luther King Jr. Communication Arts Center, Myers Auditorium.
The lecture will reflect themes from her 2012 book, "The Meaning of Freedom and Other Difficult Dialogues," a collection of 12 previously unpublished speeches addressing issues of power, race, gender, class and conservatism.
A question-and-answer session will follow.
The event will begin at 6 p.m.
