Annapolis Looking For Proposals For Golf Course

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Annapolis is looking for potential buyers and tenants to take over its Eisenhower Golf Course.

The Capital of Annapolis reports that the city has asked for proposals for takeovers of the 208-acre public course in Crownsville. Anne Arundel County has leased the golf course from the city since 1966. That lease is scheduled to expire in June 2016.

Officials have been talking about unloading the course for the past two years. The city's mayor and other city council members have said operating a golf course isn't a core service for Annapolis.

The property includes an 18-hole golf course, a two-story clubhouse, a cart storage building and 190 parking spaces.

The deadline for proposals is June 27.
