BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- And they're off! The Preakness festivities are underway, and fans at Pimlico Race Course couldn't be more excited.
There's plenty of food, booze and live music to go round.
Thousands of fans packed the Preakness infield early Saturday to see country music group Florida Georgia Line perform. Rapper Macklemore and Pitbull are also set to take the stage.
A late afternoon shower drenched the crowd, but it didn't dampen the mood.
Seasoned racing fans and Maryland natives alike are pulling for Kentucky Derby winner Orb, co-owned by Baltimore businessman Stuart Janney.
They say the Preakness is more than just a race, it's the embodiment of everything good Charm City has to offer.
Post time for the 138th running of the Preakness Stakes is 6:20 p.m.
