Metro Closing 2 Red Line Stations For Weekend Work

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro says it will close two red line stations for weekend work, and passengers on all lines should prepare for longer wait times.

Metro says that beginning Friday at 10 p.m. and continuing through Sunday, free shuttle buses will replace red line trains between Woodley Park and Metro Center. The Dupont Circle and Farragut North stations will be closed.

Metro says it will operate express and local buses between Woodley Park and Metro Center. Passengers using express buses should add 20 minutes to their travel times. Passengers using local buses with stops at the closed stations should add 25 minutes to their travel times.

Metro says trains on all other lines will operate every 22 minutes throughout the weekend. Metro says travelers will have to wait longer on station platforms.
