Delaware State Police spokesman Cpl. John Day said Saturday it wasn't clear if the two men were in a crosswalk or if they knew each other.

The men were identified as 64-year-old Robert J. Rust Jr. of Lutherville, Md., and 45-year-old Grant D. Kinkade Sr. of Westminster, Md. Kinkade died at the scene. Rust was taken by helicopter to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle and his two passengers were uninjured.
