Child Possibly Struck By Train In Middle River

MIDDLE RIVER, Md. (WJZ) -- Baltimore County Police investigate a report of a person struck by a train.

Police say it happened around 11:15 a.m. Sunday morning. near Eastern Avenue and Tidewater Lane. That's in the Middle River area.

When police arrived on the scene, they discovered blood and clothing on the tracks, but they still have not located a victim.

The conductor told authorities he believed he hit a small child. Police do say a child was taken to the hospital, but the parents say it was for another reason.

An investigation continues.

The incident occurred just a day after a man was struck and killed by a CSX train in Lansdowne.

Baltimore County Police have identified that victim as 33-year-old Daniel Shock from Newport News, Virginia.

Investigators say Shock was riding on the train when either he fell off or tried to jump off.
