Man Makes Alford Plea In Sex Offense
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- A Severn man accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl has entered an Alford plea to a fourth-degree sex offense.
Thirty-five-year-old Norman Faulkner entered the plea Tuesday in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court. An Alford plea lets a defendant maintain his innocence while admitting that prosecutors have enough evidence to obtain a conviction.
The Capital of Annapolis reports that prosecutors say Faulkner had sex with a classmate of his teenage son's in March 2012.
He faces a year in jail at sentencing Aug. 23. He will also be required to register as a sex offender for 15 years.
