4 Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Men Arrested In Laurel Car Theft

LAUREL, Md. (WJZ)-- Anne Arundel County Police arrested four Fort Lauderdale, Fla.  men in connection with theft from a car in Laurel.

It happened in the 8 o'clock hour of  Tuesday morning by a Kindercare on the 3500-block of Russett Common in Laurel.

A female victim told police that she was seated in her car when 23-year-old Leonard Wright entered the driver side of her vehicle and began searching through it.

Police say when the woman called out to Wright, he exited the car and ran to an awaiting vehicle.

As Wright  left the scene, the victim obtained the car's registration information, which she sent to the police.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect vehicle was a rental car from out of state.

Police went to a hotel parking lot and found the car as the suspects were exiting it. In addition to Wright, police arrested 22-year-old Chadrick Owens, 24-year-old Kenneth Hall and 29-year-old Gerald Lee in connection to in the theft.

Police obtained a search warrant for two hotel rooms and the suspect vehicle. They recovered property that positively linked the individuals to multiple thefts from cars that occurred in Virgina and Missouri.

The investigation is ongoing.
