Anne Arundel County Firefighters Perform High Rope Rescue

ARNOLD, Md. (WJZ) -- Anne Arundel County firefighters performed a high rope rescue Friday afternoon.

According to officials, they received a 911 call reporting an injured person as a result of a fall around 5 p.m. The home is in the 1300-block of Kinloch Circle.

The victim, a 69-year-old man, fell from a tram while descending a steep 300-foot slope that ends at the waterfront.

The man was immobilized in a rescue basket and pulled up by ropes and a hauling system to an ambulance. This occurred in less than half an hour.

The man was taken by helicopter to Shock Trauma with serious, life threatening injuries.
