Trash Truck Clips Traffic Signal, Shuts Down Light Rail In Baltimore Co.

HUNT VALLEY, Md. (WJZ) -- The light rail shuts down in Baltimore County, causing problems for people heading to the Ravens game.

The light rail just north of Beaver Dam Road remains closed.

A trash truck clipped the overhead traffic signals for the light rail Thursday afternoon right at W. Warren Road.

Crews are on scene, but it looks like they're getting ready to wrap up repairs.

A block of Beaver Dam Rd. is closed right around the light rail. The best way around is to take Warren Road to Cockeysville Road to York Road.

The MTA says service is disrupted between the Hunt Valley and Timonium stations, prompting the closures of some stations. A bus bridge is in effect to shuttle passengers.

It's not clear when that stretch of road will be reopened or when light rail service in that area will be fully restored.
