Port Of Baltimore Awarded $10 Million Federal Grant
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The Port of Baltimore has been awarded a $10 million federal grant for improvements.
According to WJZ's media partner, The Baltimore Sun, the money will go toward expanding storage and widening the channel at Seagirt Marine Terminal.
It's all to accommodate bigger ships.
Plus, the federal grant will be matched by a state grant of $19.5 million.
That should help the Port of Baltimore compete with other East Coast terminals for cargo boats passing through the newly expanded Panama Canal.
