B&O Railroad Museum To Sell Surplus Objects In Md.

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Baltimore's B&O Railroad Museum has a surplus of trains and related items, and it is putting thousands of items up for sale this week.

The museum will host a yard sale for part of its collection on Saturday, Sept. 7. The sale will include model trains, old history books, hundreds of railroad pictures and exhibit panels.

Curator David Shackelford says many pieces go into storage when they are taken off exhibit, but they are never shown again.

He says the sale is a good opportunity to clear out space.

Shackelford says the sale will include items ranging from $2 to $200. Visitors will also be able to buy raffle tickets to win larger prizes.

Money raised from the sale will go toward the museum's restoration projects.
