State Sen. Frosh Files To Run For Attorney General

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- State Sen. Brian Frosh has filed to run for attorney general of Maryland.

Frosh, a Montgomery County Democrat, made the announcement on Tuesday.

The senator says he will kick off his campaign later this month with an event in his home district. He plans to discuss a series of priorities that he would bring to the job of attorney general.

Frosh has been a state senator since 1995. He has been the chairman of the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee since 2003.

The senator took the leading role in advocating for a sweeping gun control measure in the Senate in the last legislative session. He served in the House of Delegates from 1987 to 1995.
