Teen Girl Struck & Killed While Walking On Route 40

CATONSVILLE, Md.  (WJZ)— A 17-year-old girl was struck and killed in an overnight crash in the 6400-block of Baltimore National Pike.

Just before 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Sahara Malishan, of Baltimore, was walking in one of the travel lanes when she was struck by a 2013 Mazda 6 traveling eastbound.

The driver, a 62-year-old man, remained at the scene.

Malishan was transported to Shock Trauma, where she was pronounced dead.

No citations have been issued, and the incident remains under investigation.
