Cumberland Man Eyed In Death Of Second Woman

CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) -- Police say a Cumberland man charged with killing his live-in girlfriend may be connected to the death of a Hagerstown woman in 2010.

The Cumberland Times-News reported Thursday that Hagerstown police are investigating the relationship between Stephen Schleuniger and Tammy Myerly, also known as Tammy Shives.

Myerly, 27, was found dead in her Hagerstown home on Aug. 1, 2010. Police called the death suspicious but haven't released details.

Hagerstown police say Schleuniger, 44, lived with Myerly until about three weeks before her remains were found. He had allegedly violated an order to stay away from her.

Schleuniger was charged in Cumberland on Tuesday with first-degree murder of 43-year-old Lisa Simmons. Her body hasn't been found.

Schleuniger's public defender didn't immediately return a call Friday from The Associated Press.
