Md. Woman Hurt In Attack By Injured Cow

TANEYTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say a Taneytown woman is recovering from injuries she suffered when a cow charged and pinned her against a car.

Trooper James Lantz tells the Carroll County Times that the woman was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore after the incident Wednesday night on Route 40 a few miles west of Taneytown.

He says the cow had been struck by a car on the highway. The woman was a bystander at the scene when the injured animal attacked. State police then shot and killed the cow.

Lantz says the occupants of the car that hit the cow weren't hurt.
