Gansler Says He's Had 'Rough Week' In Campaign
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Maryland Attorney General Doug Gansler says he's had a "rough week" in his campaign for governor and that he's been the victim of "character assassination."
Gansler has been subject to national scrutiny and late-night TV jokes after the publication of a photograph that showed him alongside teenage revelers at a beach week party.
The Washington Post reports that Gansler fulfilled a previous commitment to make an appearance Saturday on "The 19th Hole," a show about golf on WJFK-FM.
Gansler says he's a "big boy" and that he can handle the difficult week. He did not elaborate on what he considers to be "character assassination" but he says he's been reminded that there are people who don't want him to be governor.
