Sen. Cardin To Hold Roundtable With Small Businesses
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Maryland Sen. Ben Cardin is scheduled to visit the BioPark at the University of Maryland in Baltimore to talk about how the recent government shutdown impacted local businesses.
The event is set for Monday.
The senator says he will hear about what Maryland's small businesses think would be helpful to see in the current budget negotiations.
The 12-acre biomedical research park brings laboratory and office space to the area. It also encourages collaboration among biotechnology companies and the university.
Two lab and office buildings of 356,000 square feet housing 30 tenants have been completed. A third commercial building is expected to begin construction.
