Red, Orange, Blue Lines Affected By Weekend Work

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro says shuttle buses will replace trains on a section of the blue and orange lines this weekend.

Metro says that beginning Friday at 10 p.m. and continuing through closing on Sunday, shuttle buses will replace blue and orange line trains between Federal Triangle and Eastern Market. The Smithsonian, Federal Center SW and Capitol South stations will be closed.

The L'Enfant Plaza station will be open for green and yellow line service only.

On the red line, trains will operate between Shady Grove and Glenmont every 16 minutes throughout the weekend. Between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., additional trains will operate between Grosvenor-Strathmore and Silver Spring. Trains will run every eight minutes.

Customers can expect regular service on the yellow and green lines.
