Developer Cancels Proposed $20M Annapolis City Dock Deal

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- A developer says he is canceling a proposed $20 million Annapolis City Dock redevelopment.

The Capital reports that developer Mark Ordan said Tuesday that the decision to nix the deal was shaped by public opposition and the election of Mayor-elect Mike Pantelides, who opposed the plan.

Ordan's group backed out of the deal in July, but Mayor Josh Cohen said at the time he hoped to bring them back to the table. While Ordan didn't revive the deal, he had said new height guidelines in the City Dock master plan would move the project forward.

Greg Kaufman, one of the two sellers of the property, confirmed that Ordan walked away from the deal around the time of the Nov. 5 election.
