Former Del. Cheryl Kagan To Run For State Senate
ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Former Del. Cheryl Kagan to run for state Senate.
Kagan, a Democrat, made the announcement on Tuesday that she will seek the District 17 seat, which includes Rockville and Gaithersburg.
She represented the district in the House of Delegates from 1995 to 2003.
Kagan challenged Democratic Sen. Jennie Forehand in the 2010 primary, but lost in a close race.
Del. Luiz Simmons, a Democrat who also represents Montgomery County, is also seeking the Senate seat.
