Jeremy Conn: What Are The Orioles Doing?
When your team is in the AL East and they are cutting salary while everyone else is adding players, you start to ask yourself that question. What are we doing? They had a salary dump, with the trade of Jim Johnson, and they seemed happy to get something back in return. I don't believe Jemile Weeks will ever turn into an everyday second baseman.
Now the big question is what do the Orioles do with the money they are saving on Johnson's contract. The Orioles have been linked to Nelson Cruz, Ubaldo Jimenez and Shin Soo Choo. Although, I don't believe any Oriole fan thinks we will sign anybody of that caliber. Just to let you know where the market is at right now, Scott Feldman wants a 3 year deal for 30 million. Right now i'm losing hope that they resign either Davis or Wieters when they become free agents.
