Police: Officer Injured In Crash In Laurel

LAUREL, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County Police say an officer is recovering after his cruiser was hit.

The cruiser was hit early Friday at the intersection of Route 1 and Contee Road in Laurel by a car police say was speeding in the wrong direction. Police say the driver was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Police say the officer's injuries are not considered life threatening.
