University of Maryland University College Announces New Scholarship
ADELPHI, Md. (AP) -- The University of Maryland University College is announcing a new scholarship.
The UMCU Completion Scholarship will be announced Wednesday.
It will enable community college graduates to pursue a bachelor's degree at UMUC at reduced tuition from $273 per credit hour to an average of $199.
UMUC says the total cost of a bachelor's degree, including the cost of an associate's degree earned at a community college, will be about $20,000.
William Kirwan, chancellor of the University System of Maryland, says the program will build on UMUC's partnerships with community colleges and help the system meet its commitment to increasing the number of Maryland residents who earn degrees.
