Christmas Eve Snow Falls In Far Western Md.

MCHENRY, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say a Christmas Eve snowstorm is making driving conditions hazardous in the Garrett County mountains.

Police put a snow emergency plan into effect late Tuesday morning. The notice means parking is prohibited on designated highways in the county, including Interstate 68.

State police in McHenry say the weather is a factor in a couple of minor accidents.

The National Weather Service predicts 1 to 3 inches of snow in Garrett County Tuesday afternoon. Another half-inch is possible overnight.

The weather service says Cumberland and Hagerstown could get up to a half-inch of Christmas Eve snow.
