Salisbury Store Faces Potential Fine From City

SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- Salisbury officials are warning of potential fines against an adult entertainment store in the city.

The city says it plans to impose a $500-per-day fine on the Red Light District store if the business does not begin complying with Salisbury's zoning regulations by Jan. 9.

The store's lawyer declined to comment to the Daily Times of Salisbury.

Officials say an inspection of the Route 13 store earlier this month revealed that 25 percent of the usable floor space was used to display adult entertainment material, an apparent violation of zoning regulations.

The city has also said that the store's bright yellow and red signs violate Salisbury law.
