State, Feds Investigate Fatal Dump Truck Accident
EDEN, Md. (AP) -- State and federal agencies are investigating an accident at a Somerset County ravine that killed a dump truck driver.
Maryland State Police on Tuesday identified the driver as Kenneth Jacob Beasley, 73, of Princess Anne. Troopers say he was killed Monday afternoon when the dump truck he was driving overturned in a ravine at Reynolds Excavating in Eden. Police say the dump truck was empty when it overturned.
Beasley was pronounced dead at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. His body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore.
The Maryland Safety and Health Administration, OSHA and the Mine Safety and Health Administration are investigating the accident.
