BALTIMORE (WJZ) — There’s an alert for women in several Baltimore neighborhoods. Police say an armed sexual predator is targeting them in their homes. He’s responsible for four attacks.
Mike Hellgren has new information on these assaults.
Several Baltimore neighborhoods are on edge with a predator on the loose. Police say the man depicted in the sketch has sexually assaulted four women. WJZ pinpointed the locations around the city: Woodmont Avenue, Gunther Avenue, Ramblewood Road and Stamford Road.
A woman who lives near one of the attacks works the night shift and she’s worried.
“I have children, so it’s very terrifying. Very. I have kids and I want to make it home to them. I’m scared for them, as well,” she said.
Police say they believe the same man is behind all four attacks, targeting women on their own doorsteps.
“He’s approaching women when they leave their homes. He brandishes an unknown caliber handgun and then forces them back into the home, where he then perpetrates the crimes,” said Baltimore City Police Sgt. Sarah Connolly.
Police say he then runs away.
“He’s usually wearing dark clothing–a black hooded sweatshirt and a ski mask,” Connolly said.
While some neighbors say they got text alerts from police, others were unaware of these assaults.
“I have two little boys and I’m always running around because I get off work late. That’s just not right,” one woman said.
Police say the assaults have all happened in the past two weeks during all times of day. All of the women gave the same description of the suspect.
“I have someone watching me get out to my car when I leave and call someone to have them watching when I get home. I never walk around by myself,” said one woman.
If you have any information about the man in the sketch, you’re urged to contact police. You can remain anonymous.
