Morgan State Wallops S.C. State 73-56

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Ian Chiles hit 7 of 11 shots from the field and led Morgan State with 17 points in a 73-56 defeat of South Carolina State on Saturday, breaking a three-game losing streak.

The Bears (4-10, 2-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) grabbed the lead early -- sprinting away on an 11-4 run punctuated by a reverse dunk by Justin Black on the way to a 36-23 halftime lead.

Black, who added a fast-break dunk after halftime for a 44-25 lead, finished with seven points, seven assists and four steals.

Anthony Hubbard and Shaquille Duncan scored 13 each for Morgan State and Cedric Blossom added 12. Hubbard hauled down 12 rebounds.

The Bulldogs (5-10, 1-1) were held to 34.5 percent shooting (19 of 55) and suffered 17 turnovers. Matthew Hezekiah led the way with 16 points.

Morgan State scored 20 points off turnovers and outscored SC State 36-26 in the paint.
