Coppin State Tops South Carolina State 75-69

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Michael Murray scored 20 points and pulled down 14 rebounds as Coppin State snapped a seven-game losing streak, beating South Carolina State 75-69 Monday night.

Andre Armstrong added a season-high 22 points and Arnold Fripp scored 15 for the Eagles (5-11, 2-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference).

Coppin State shot just 6 of 23 (26.1 percent) from 3-point range but made more free throws (19) than South Carolina State attempted (18). CSU out-rebounded the Bulldogs 40-32, including 14-9 on the offensive glass.

Matthew Hezekiah scored 16 points to lead South Carolina State (5-12, 1-2). Jalen White added 13 points and the freshman has now reached double figures in four of the last five games. Adama Adams finished with 11.

SCSU will host Florida A&M on Saturday and Coppin State travels to Hampton.
