GAITHERSBURG, Md. (AP) — Montgomery County Police say a man has been charged with fatally stabbing a clerk at a Gaithersburg convenience store.

Police say Shaun King, 36, attacked the clerk unprovoked in the 7-Eleven store on Snouffer School Road early Thursday. A second worker called 911 and as officers arrived, police say they saw King leaving with what appeared to be blood on his hands and clothes. After King was handcuffed, police say officers found a box cutter in his pocket. King tried to run, but was quickly caught.
