Draft Preview With Dan Shonka

DRAFT PREVIEW WITH DAN SHONKA

Dan Shonka of Ourlads.com joined Scott and Jeremy Friday to give a look towards the 2014 NFL Draft this May. Out of all the quarterbacks that are expected to be drafted in the first round, he expects the Texans to take Louisville QB Teddy Bridgewater first overall. "He likes that drop back guy who can stay in the pocket, that would push Manziel out because most of his plays are made extemporaneous, but Bridgewater would still fit in that group. But it wouldn't surprise us if Bortles is our guy."

Shonka has the Ravens linked to Wide Receiver Mike Evans from Texas A&M at the 16th overall pick. He went on describe Mike Evans stats. "Hes 6'5, 225 lbs. runs well. He is sort of like a smaller version of a Jimmy Graham. Evans has the basketball background where he boxes defensive backs out, goes up to the high points and plucks the ball. Will he last until 16 is the question."

Scott also asked about the great amount of the underclassman in this draft class. Dan says there is plenty to choose from. "There is 98 underclassman, then there is four more who graduated so that makes it 102 new bodies in this draft. The three positions that really have a shot in the arm. All the top tight ends are juniors, you got 20 receivers that came who helped enriched things. And 20 running backs came out too, so if you want a running back you are gonna get one in the third or the fifth round who is a pretty good player.
