Gansler Opens Campaign Office In Prince George's

FORESTVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Maryland gubernatorial hopeful Douglas Gansler has opened a campaign office in Prince George's County, the home turf of his rival, Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown.

The Washington Post reports Gansler, the state's attorney general and a former Montgomery County state's attorney, opened the regional campaign office Saturday in Forestville. Gansler and his running mate, Del. Jolene Ivey, argued during the event that Brown, a former Prince George's delegate, has not been attuned to the county's interests during the past seven years that he has served as lieutenant governor. The county is a key battleground in the June 24 Democratic primary.

Gansler, Brown and Del. Heather Mizeur are the three Democratic candidates running in the primary. They're hoping to replace Gov. Martin O'Malley, who is stepping down because of term limits.
