Md. Eastern Shore Overtakes Howard 87-73

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) -- Troy Snyder exploded for 34 points and 14 rebounds, both season highs, in helping Maryland-Eastern Shore score 59 second-half points and beat Howard 87-73 on Saturday.

Hakeem Baxter added 22 points and Louis Bell 15 for the Hawks, who broke a three-game losing streak.

MD-Eastern Shore (4-18, 2-8 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) trailed Howard 39-28 at the half with the Bison (6-20, 4-7) shooting 59 percent from the floor.

MD-Eastern Shore reversed that deficit in the second half on a comeback effort that began with 16:11 to play and trailing Howard by 20 points, 50-30.  Snyder's 3-pointer capped a comeback run in which he scored 19 of the Hawks 40 points over an 11-minute span in taking the lead over the Bison 70-67.  The Hawks scored the next 11 points in cementing the big comeback effort.

James Daniel matched his season-high output of 33 points for the Bison.
