Norfolk St. Beats UMES 6th Straight Time, 77-65
NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- Pendarvis Williams scored 21 points, on 8-of-12 shooting, as Norfolk State cruised to its sixth consecutive win over Maryland-Eastern Shore, 77-65 on Monday.
Malcolm Hawkins had 16 points and nine rebounds for Norfolk State (17-12. 11-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) and Brandon Goode added 15 points.
Norfolk State led 37-22 at halftime. Then Williams took over in the second half, scoring 17 and his two free throws put the Spartans up by 19 points.
Maryland-Eastern Shore (5-23, 3-12) was paced by Troy Snyder with 20 points and 13 rebounds. It was Snyder's fifth double-double in his last seven games. Louis Bell had 12 and Ishaq Pitt 10 for the Hawks.
UMES ended the nation's longest road losing streak (34 games) on Saturday with a 68-67 victory over Coppin State.
The game was moved up three hours due to inclement weather in the region.
