Metro Suspends Disabled Rider Service During Storm

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro is suspending its paratransit service for disabled riders and will have detours on some bus routes due to the winter storm moving through the area.

The transit agency announced Sunday that it will suspend MetroAccess service on Monday due to the weather forecast and the expected road conditions.

Metrobus service is expected to operate early Monday under a "moderate" snow service plan, which includes planned detours to keep buses off hills, narrow streets and other problem areas. The transit agency warns that all bus service may experience delays due to the winter weather conditions.

Metro says additional service changes are possible for Monday, based on changing weather conditions.
