Smithsonian Opens 3 Museums Despite Snow In D.C.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- While most federal workers have a snow day, the Smithsonian Institution is opening several museums to visitors at their regular times.

On Monday, the National Air and Space Museum, the National Portrait Gallery and the Smithsonian American Art Museum all plan to open at their regular times. Other Smithsonian museums in Washington and the National Zoo are all closed.

Other museums in Washington also are closed due to the weather, including the Newseum, the National Gallery of Art and the Corcoran Gallery of Art.
