Man Killed Crossing Road In Westminster

WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police are investigating the death of a man who hit by a car while crossing Route 140 in Westminster.

The Carroll County Times reported Thursday that the victim was 66-year-old Harry Dowden Jr.

Police say he was struck just before 10 p.m. Wednesday by a car driven by a 34-year-old woman. They say Dowden was not in a crosswalk and was wearing dark clothing.

Police say they do not believe speed or alcohol contributed to the collision.
