Md. Democratic Candidates Court Western Md. Votes

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- The three leading contenders for Maryland's Democratic gubernatorial nomination are pitching their platforms to the party's western Maryland members in Hagerstown.

Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown, Attorney General Doug Gansler and state Del. Heather Mizeur are among the scheduled speakers at Saturday's Western Maryland Democratic Summit.

U.S. Rep. John Delaney is the morning keynote speaker. He's seeking re-election to the 6th District seat he took away from 10-term Republican Roscoe Bartlett in 2012.

The closing speaker is Mary Beth Cahill, who worked in the Clinton White House and directed John Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign.
