WASHINGTON (AP) — A former employee with the Social Security Administration has pleaded guilty to taking bribes from beneficiaries in exchange for higher benefits.
Christopher Payton, 46, of Mount Rainier, Md., entered the plea Tuesday in federal court in Washington. According to a statement of offense, Payton worked in Social Security’s Anacostia office.
