Md. Board Of Ed Reverses School Board Action

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) -- The Maryland Board of Education has reversed a decision by a local school board to transfer a principal from one high school to another.

The Daily Times of Salisbury reports that the board reversed the Somerset County school board's June 2013 decision to transfer Washington High School Principal William Johnson to an alternative high school.

Williams was transferred to Promise Academy alternative school after Somerset Superintendent Marjorie Miles left just two years into a four-year contract.

Miles and other administrators had recommended Johnson's transfer.

The state ruling directed the school board to adopt an option to reinstate Johnson.

The school board will meet on Aug. 22 and vote whether to do so.
