Concern Grows For Missing Toddlers, Md. Mom With Paranoid Schizophrenia

GERMANTOWN, Md. (WJZ)-- Concern grows as Montgomery County police continue to search for a missing Maryland mother-- who is diagnosed as paranoid schizophrenia-- and her two toddler-aged children.

Catherine Hoggle, 3-year-old Sarah and 2-year-old Jacob have been missing since Tuesday.

There have been no confirmed sightings of the children since they were reported missing by their father on Monday.

But on Thursday night, police responded to a possible sighting of Hoggle in Germantown. Police canvassed the area but did not find the mother or two children.

A Ride On Bus driver believes that Hoggle, without the kids, was a passenger on his Ride On bus on Tuesday night.  At approximately 6:30 p.m., the bus driver believes that a woman who appeared to be Hoggle, boarded the bus at the Germantown Transit Center near Route 118 and Aircraft Drive.  She rode the bus to the Gaithersburg Transit Center adjacent to  Lakeforest Mall (701 Russell Avenue in Gaithersburg) and exited the bus at that location.  There is no video from the bus.

Based on data and information gathered during the investigation, detectives have focused on areas of the county that they believe Hoggle may have visited recently. Officers have searched these areas, looking for evidence that could assist detectives in locating the Hoggles. The search process is highly organized and systematic, conducted by police officers, and is overseen by the Montgomery County Police Department Search Team.

Montgomery County Police plan to search their search throughout the weekend.

Police say they are deeply concerned for the well being of the two children.

A warrant for child neglect has been issued for Hoggle's arrest.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Hoggle or her children is asked to call 911 immediately.
