GREENBELT, Md. (AP) — A District of Columbia man has pleaded guilty to transporting a minor to engage in sex.
Fifty-three-year-old Kevin Robinson pleaded guilty Friday in federal court in Maryland. As part of a plea agreement with prosecutors, Robinson faces between 12 and 17.5 years in prison at his sentencing on Jan. 14. He also will have to register as a sex offender once he’s released.
Robinson’s attorney declined to comment.
Prosecutors say Robinson sexually abused a 9-year-old girl last October in his car and at his workplace at the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center in Greenbelt.
Prosecutors say the girl told her parents about the abuse when Robinson, a family acquaintance, dropped her off at home. They say a DNA sample taken from the girl matched Robinson’s saliva.
