Steve Davis: At Least We Get Some Mustard!

On our show Friday, we did a simulcast with a Cleveland radio station. One of the hosts alluded to the rivalry between the Ravens and Browns, and I had to cut him off and point out there is no rivalry. Flacco and Harbaugh were 11-1 vs. Cleveland. I said when the schedule comes out, fans mark it as a check in the win column. That ticked them off and led to a bet. Ed put up crabcakes, and since we have no idea what Cleveland has to offer, we let them counter, and they proposed mustard. Somehow, Ed took that deal.

So, with the Browns blowing the game, at least we get mustard.

It was a good, not great, win for the Ravens. The running game looked good, and it looks like our LT (Lorenzo Taliaferro) might be a find in the 4th round. Flacco made a phenomenal pass to Smith, Sr. to set up the winning field goal.

However, I am concerned about Pitta. He is Joe's guy. We saw what happened the last time Joe didn't have him; it was Joe's worst year. Sure, we have Smith, Sr. this time and Daniels, but Kubiak's offense is predicated on having 2 tight ends.

Also of concern, the Browns marched the field on the Ravens for much of three quarters. Elam was awful, Webb was rusty, and Jimmy Smith is limping around. The Ravens got no pass rush.

There are some things to work on here to get better. It was just Cleveland, after all.
